Trip to LA

What a beautiful day was it!

Me and my husband had a trip to LA for the first time.  We smelled the most fragrant tea-roses (as it seemed to me) at the Rose Park and got to learn about dinosaur extinction at the Natural History Museum.  Especially my husband loved the room with minerals and geological stuff, he is extremely interested in, he is a geologist. He looked like a child in a candy shop) As for me that room attracted my attention only when I saw gemstones.    

This day I was inspired by a woman who’s “Russian Anna Wintour” (Chief editor of American VOGUE). Her name is Evelina Khromchenko. She is Chief Editor of  L'Officiel magazine and also she is responsible for contents and public relations of Les Editions Jalou editions in more than 20 countries worldwide. Her outfits are always elegant and “strict”.

Kokoshnik...

My intention is to shade a light on Fashion History of Russia as there are so many things to share, to get an inspiration in.Today  I decided to start with  my favorite Russian traditional accessory such as head-dress. 

Ladies and gentlemen give it up for Kokoshnik! 

  As we may look back into the early ages of Russian History the most widespread headdress worn by women and girls was Kokoshnik.  It was created to match a style of a dress (sarafan)and varied in forms and shapes.  It could be round or pointed and have some pearls on it as well. Nowadays you can meet this beautiful headdress on women  of  Russian folk ensembles and sometimes it’s worn by brides on their wedding day. Unfortunately, it is out of popularity for  every day outfit, although Russian Designers try to incorporate it back in our present-day Fashion.
